Where do broken hearts go, you ask? As per the film Camp Sawi, they go to Bantayan Island, Cebu! In my opinion I do not believe that a camp specially made for the broken hearted could work in real life, but I sure do think that giving yourself the opportunity to: 1. get away and travel to a remote island, may it be for self exploration or relaxation; 2. go to a place with no signal, if that’s the only way you’d stop expecting him to call (because maybe he just won’t); 3. hang around friends that will definitely turn your frown upside down, or be a shoulder to cry on (since you gotta let it out somehow); 4. binge on amazing food, rather than getting inebriated as a way to forget, because these I believe, are the major necessities in moving on– and all of these you can definitely do in Bantayan Island, or even better. As it’s not as commercialized as our other beloved islands in the Philippines, Bantayan Island offers a complete “Blue Lagoon” experience. With not much cell sites, no fast food chains, and a friendly neighborhood of ONLY about 9,000 people, I’m sure you know what I’m saying here already. If you don’t, here are some photos to see for yourself.(bikini from BeyondTheBeachPh)Trust that after going on an adventure in a place like this, may it be with friend/s or by yourself, you will find that there is someone else more deserving of that love you are capable of giving– Yourself. We should realise that there is no greater way to achieve genuine happiness than learning how to love the life we’ve been given, and to make sure to live it worthwhile. Spent doing things we love with the ones we love and who love us, learning new things and seeing new things. There is no point wasting your life sitting and hoping that maybe he or she would come back to enjoy this life with you because there is no time to lose. Who knows, maybe the right person is already waiting for you on your next adventure.
